On September 14, 2026, TD Bank Group President and CEO Raymond Chun delivered the following address to the Milken Institute Global Dialogues Toronto conference. What follows are his prepared remarks. Check against delivery.

Thank you. Good morning everyone. I'd like to thank the Milken Institute for hosting this Global Dialogue in Toronto for the first time. We've partnered with Milken for many years and are proud to sponsor today's gathering.

Richard Ditizio, you and your team have brought together such an extraordinary group of leaders and investors from around the world.

Today, we’re also joined by government leaders from across Canada.

Welcome everyone. You have arrived at an important moment for Canada.

For years, Canada's advantages have been clear.

  • A stable country.
  • Strong banks.
  • Abundant resources.
  • And a highly skilled workforce.

In recent months, Canada has shown a determination to convert those advantages into sustained economic growth.

  • Governments are partnering with business, reducing barriers and accelerating progress.
  • Companies are committing capital.
  • Projects are moving forward.

Canada is capturing the world’s attention.

This is a moment of opportunity as Canada enters a defining period of investment and growth.

In fact, TD Economics believes Canada is on the cusp of an investment supercycle.

$1 trillion investment opportunities are already approved or in the pipeline across more than 300 projects. With the right policy actions, that figure could grow to as much as $1.7 trillion over the next decade.

The early signs of this opportunity are extremely encouraging.

We’re seeing:

  • Streamlined approval processes.
  • Strategic projects moving from concept to execution faster.
  • And policies encouraging progress and investment.

The evidence is clear: Canada is beginning to move at the speed this moment requires.

  • From the $33 billion dollar LNG Canada Phase 2 expansion, connecting Canadian energy to growing markets overseas.
  • To the recently announced, $70 billion dollar Churchill Falls and Gull Island developments, building the clean power needed to support industrial development.

The investment supercycle is beginning to take shape.

Much more work remains, and transformation takes time, but Canada is committed to the work ahead. And so is TD.

Because supercycles like this don't come often. And when they do, companies like TD have a responsibility to act.

Earlier today, TD made a five-year, $150 billion commitment, to provide new lending, advice and other financing activities to boost sectors critical to Canada's future:

  • Clean and conventional energy.
  • Critical minerals and resources.
  • The infrastructure to move people, resources, and products across the country, and around the world.
  • Defence and Aerospace, to meet Canada's domestic security and global obligations.
  • And digital and AI-driven industries, to commercialize Canadian innovation, and build a productive, future-focused economy.

This is a generational opportunity. And TD will help to realize it.

We're bringing together clients, investors and governments to accelerate investment and move projects forward.

Catalyzing a supercycle of this size requires more than just financing.

It requires expertise. Relationships. Execution. And trust.

We have deep expertise in these sectors. We’re investing in even more talent to help our clients scale and build faster and connect with investors around the world.

I've been a banker for more than thirty years, and I can't remember a time Canada had such a significant growth opportunity.

Together, with our clients, and with you, we'll help seize it and build for the future.

For me, that future is personal.

I was four years old when my family arrived here from Korea.

Canada gave us the opportunity to build a life, contribute, and belong.

Canada has long been a place where people arrive with ambition and build something special.

That openness remains one of this country's greatest strengths. It provides Canada with global perspective, and the workforce needed to grow.

TD serves one in three Canadians. As I meet them across the country, I see their ambition and their resolve.

  • Households building a better future.
  • Entrepreneurs taking risks.
  • Business leaders expanding and innovating.
  • Projects breaking ground and moving into execution.

Canada is on the move.

At TD, we see the opportunity from a unique vantage point.

Our impact in Canada is significant: we drive growth in every sector of the economy.

Over the past two decades, we've also created deep relationships in the United States: 10 million clients. A growing capital markets business. And 30,000 bankers across the East Coast.

We all know Canada and the United States are connected through trade, investment, and integrated supply chains.

At TD, with deep relationships in both countries, we also see the human connections: Millions of Canadians and Americans who have built our economies together and rely on one another to compete globally.

I believe a Canada that invests in its own future will be a stronger North American partner, a stronger global partner, and a more attractive destination for capital.

Over the next two days, you will see a country with the resources the world needs, the determination to build, and the trust required for long-term partnerships.

The decisions we all make in this moment will define Canada's economy for decades.

And so, decades from now, let us be able to say that when the opportunity emerged, we had the conviction to act. That we invested. That we built. And that we unlocked Canada's next era of growth.

The work is underway.

The opportunity is real.

Let's seize it together.

Thank you.
