Services in Laval are now more accessible than ever LAVAL, QC, Sept. 24 /CNW/ - TD Bank Financial Group officially opened its business centre in the Laval Centropolis today. More than 250 people attended the opening reception including Nicole Demers, Member of Parliament for the Bloc Québécois and André Boileau, Executive Committee Vice Chairman, City of Laval. Bernard Dorval, Group Head Business Banking and Insurance, TD Bank Financial Group and Co-Chair, TD Canada Trust represented the Bank along with members of the Quebec senior executive team. In addition to being more accessible than ever to the residents of Laval and the North Shore, TD Bank Financial Group will employ more than 200 people at the business centre. Features of the business centre include: - A modern and spacious new branch design with four automated banking machines (ABMs) including one drive-through ABM. At one convenient location, customers may benefit from the advice of a Financial Planner, an Investment Advisor and two Small Business Account Managers. - A commercial banking centre with 14 employees available to service Laval and the North Shore markets, plus a commercial deposit machine for quick deposits for commercial banking customers. - A TD Waterhouse discount brokerage office that will offer, among other services, on-line brokerage seminars and demonstrations to customers. - A TD Insurance Home and Auto call centre to be located in a building close to the business centre. Scheduled to open at the end of October, the office will serve the Quebec market and employ more than 150 people, making TD Insurance Home and Auto one of the largest employers in Centropolis. In the near future TD Insurance Home and Auto plans to create new jobs, as the new location offers the capacity for greater expansion. It will also provide personnel with a welcoming working environment thanks to the innovative layout, work stations and rest areas. "We've opened seven TD Canada Trust branches in the past three years in Laval and the North Shore, and our customer base is growing rapidly," said Bernard Dorval, Group Head Business Banking & Insurance and Co-Chair TD Canada Trust, TD Bank Financial Group. "By establishing a business centre in the Centropolis we are poised to provide a wider range of services to existing customers and attract new customers. In addition, TD Insurance Home and Auto is becoming the undisputed leader in home and automobile insurance in Laval and the North Shore." TD Canada Trust now has 12 branches to service the Laval and North Shore markets. To support its growth in personal banking services, TD Canada Trust plans to open two additional branches in the Laval region - one in Boisbriand and another in Ste-Rose. In recent years, TD has been enjoying strong growth and it intends on continuing to offer increasingly accessible services. With this in mind, starting on November 1, 2007 the business hours of TD Canada Trust will be extended to 62 or more hours per week. In addition to providing greater accessibility, the extended hours initiative will create more than 160 new full-time jobs in Quebec. TD's efforts to be the best bank have not gone unnoticed. TD Canada Trust recently won a third consecutive Synovate award for best customer service, and was ranked highest in customer satisfaction among Canadian banks in the J.D. Power and Associates 2007 Canadian Retail Banking Customer Satisfaction Study for the second year in a row. Finally, as part of the reception, TD presented a $25,000 donation to Fondation Cité de la Santé, with the funds going to a fight-against-cancer initiative led by the hospital of Cité de la Santé de Laval. Paul Paré, President of the Board of Fondation Cité de la Santé and Dr. Manon Boursier, head of the hospital's oncology department were in attendance to receive the donation.
