- TD Canada Trust continues aggressive expansion with 38 new branches in 2007 - Canada's most convenient bank has opened more than 100 branches in the past four years - TD gets ready to extend branch hours across Canada starting November 1st TORONTO, Oct. 22 /CNW/ - TD Canada Trust opened five branches today bringing the number of new branches it's opened in Canada this year to 37 so far, 38 by the end of October. The branches, located in Chilliwack, B.C, Oakville, Brampton, and Guelph, Ontario, and L'Ile Perrot, Quebec, are part of a network that, through rapid growth and a determination to be in the best locations in Canada, this year became the second largest in the country. "We're proud of our expanding network of branches," says Tim Hockey, Group Head, Personal Bank, and Co-Chair, TD Canada Trust. "Over the past seven years, since TD merged with Canada Trust, we've worked hard to make sure we're in the best locations, in the right places to meet the growing need we see for great service. In fact, we just celebrated a milestone with our 100th branch in Quebec." Online and telephone banking have increased in popularity over those years, but talk to the average Canadian, and he or she will probably tell you, that even though they often bank online and transact at ABM machines, they still choose their bank because of convenience, and yes, location. "We talk to customers every day and they're telling us that they like what technology can do for them but, inundated with information and seemingly endless choices and options, they still crave the human touch, if only to help them make sense of what's available. This growing demand for face-to-face service is the reason we've opened 102 branches in the last four years and plan to open about 30 more next year," adds Hockey. Each new TD Canada Trust branch features a broad array of personal and small business products and services as well as highly trained TD Canada Trust employees dedicated to helping customers reach their financial goals. A number of branches also feature the services of TD Waterhouse wealth management professionals, including Financial Planners. Branches are designed to be barrier-free and equipped with state-of-the-art, full-service Green Machines featuring the latest in bank machine technology, including greater security features, improved accessibility such as audio guidance for visually impaired customers, and a choice of five languages. "TD Canada Trust is a customer service bank, and that goes beyond the awards we've won for service from J.D. Power and Associates and Synovate. Delivering a great experience is a calling for us, which is something we believe customers notice when they come into the branch and talk to our people," says Hockey. "It's why we've invested in new extended branch hours starting November 1 - giving us 52% longer hours than our nearest competitor. And it's why we are investing in communities across Canada with more and more branches in growing and diverse neighbourhoods." TD Canada Trust's new branch hours starting November 1st are Monday to Wednesday, 8am-6pm, Thursday to Friday, 8am-8pm and Saturday, 8am-4pm.
