- TD Canada Trust is celebrating five years of bringing jazz to Canadians. TORONTO, June 18 /CNW/ - Canadians are getting ready to groove with the hottest local and international jazz musicians around, from Herbie Hancock to the Dave Brubeck Quartet and Sheila Jordan, at the 2008 TD Canada Trust Jazz Festivals. And TD Canada Trust is looking forward to jazzing up Victoria, Vancouver, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax for the fifth year in a row. "These festivals are a great chance to see the best jazz musicians from around the world - musicians, both new and established, that a lot of Canadians might never get a chance to see otherwise," commented Tim Hockey, Group Head, Canadian Banking and President and CEO, TD Canada Trust. "Last year we had over three million music lovers - many of them our customers and employees - come out to the TD Canada Trust Jazz Festivals and we're looking forward to welcoming them again for the fifth year." To help showcase Canada's up and coming jazz stars, TD Canada Trust will also present a youth outreach program at each festival. Programs vary according to the festival, but one thing is for sure, participants will have a chance to learn from and jam alongside some of the jazz greats with workshops from headlining musicians and, in some cases, a performance on the festival's closing weekend. And, to amuse the little ones, the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation Monster Murals at each festival will let them get their hands dirty while parents learn more about TD's commitment to the environment and how they can help. Most of the festivals kick off on June 20, which also happens to be TD Canada Trust's national Customer Appreciation Day - customers are invited to visit their nearest branch for refreshments and surprise giveaways.
