More jobs to be added to Client Service Centre and new National Claims Response Centre SAINT JOHN, NB, June 23 /CNW/ - TD Insurance Home and Auto will expand its Saint John Client Service Centre operation and will establish a new National Claims Response Centre that together is expected to create 200 new jobs, Premier Shawn Graham announced today. "In February, I traveled to Toronto and met with officials from TD to once again discuss the possibility of growing their operation," said Graham. "Today's announcement is the result of a new aggressive investment strategy, a hands-on approach from our government and the development of a strong partnership with TD. I am very pleased that TD has once again chosen New Brunswick for its expansion." The Premier was joined at the news conference by Alain Thibault, President and CEO of TD Insurance, Saint John East MLA Roly MacIntyre and Saint John Mayor Ivan Court. TD Insurance's Alain Thibault added: "We're both proud and excited to be expanding our business in New Brunswick. TD is 'Canada's most comfortable bank' and one of the strongest brands in the country - this resonates in our insurance business too; people feel comfortable talking to TD about their insurance needs as we prepare our customers to handle 'the accidents of life.' In fact, our Saint John Client Service Centre has managed more than 300,000 calls so far this year and the new Claims Response Centre has received nearly 5,000 calls since it opened in April; adding employees in both centres will enable us to further attract and retain customers, and help those in need." The provincial government will provide TD Insurance Home and Auto with a forgivable loan of $5,600 for each of the 200 jobs created at its operations in Saint John. The Client Service Centre currently employs more than 200 people. "This is the second example in the last year of how we have been aggressively working with TD to attract new investments to the province by building upon our strong relationship with this top employer," added Graham. "The clear commitment that TD has shown to Saint John and to the province of New Brunswick underscores our government's message that in New Brunswick companies can be more successful. By partnering with companies like this we are demonstrating our government's commitment to the knowledge industry, and to the diversification of New Brunswick's economy. Partnerships such as this one will help us move the province toward self-sufficiency by 2026." Under the TD Insurance brand, TD Bank Financial Group offers a number of insurance protection products marketed under the following names: TD Insurance Credit Protection; TD Insurance Home and Auto; TD Insurance Life and Health; TD Insurance Meloche Monnex; and TD Insurance Travel. The Saint John Client Service Centre is the amalgamated operation of the former Liberty Mutual Insurance Company Centre, acquired by TD Bank Financial Group in 2004. The home and auto business of TD Insurance is the largest direct-response home and auto insurer in Canada, with close to one million clients, $1.8 billion in written premiums and more than 3,600 employees.
