TD gave away almost 700,000 treats and prizes during its popular six week summer campaign. TORONTO, Aug. 19 /CNW/ - The TD Canada Trust Longer Hours Campaign -Thanks from your Bank which ran from June 16 to July 25, from "eight 'till late, six days straight," saw almost 700,000 giveaways and prizes go out to customers across Canada. For six weeks during the summer campaign, customers were thanked with weekly grand prize draws and surprise giveaways when they visited any of approximately 1,100 TD branches across Canada. "Even though we appreciate our customers all year-round with the longest hours, it was fun spending the summer going the extra mile with events and prizes," said Tim Hockey, Group Head Canadian Banking and President and CEO, TD Canada Trust. "We saw great reactions every time we surprised someone with a giveaway and a lot of customers told us they really looked forward to coming in to see what we'd do next!" To help kick off the campaign, TD Canada Trust held its annual Customer Appreciation Day on June 20. Branches across Canada hosted their own festivities including lunchtime barbeques and circus-themed events complete with fortune tellers. Some branches had employees decked out in green and one branch even spoofed TD's "Grumpy Old Men" television ad with life-size replicas of the famous duo sitting on a bench. Over the summer, through weekly grand prize draws, TD gave away almost 6,500 DVD players, gift cards, digital picture frames, digital cameras, digital camcorders and game consoles. And, during weekly surprise rewards days, TD handed out a total of 690,000 rewards, including Tim Hortons gift cards, environmentally friendly water bottles, tins of Jelly Bellys, packs of gum, lip balms, lanyards and TD Friends of the Environment Foundation reusable shopping bags. Because TD Canada Trust is open 50 per cent longer than the other banks, customers were thanked morning, noon and night throughout the campaign. Hours of operation are Monday to Wednesday, 8am to 6pm, Thursday to Friday, 8am to 8pm and Saturday, 8am to 4pm - check the nearest branch because some are open even longer.
