- TD Friends of the Environment Foundation showcases green innovation at Canada's biggest rock festival - Fans can sign up for the TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup TORONTO, Sept. 3 /CNW/ - Solar-powered computer stations, sunscreen and cooling misters are just a few of the ways TD Canada Trust is making Virgin Festival more comfortable for Toronto rock fans. Virgin Festival Toronto takes place September 6th and 7th at Toronto Island Park and TD Canada Trust will be there as a sponsor to help pump up the volume at the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation Go Zone, with the TD Comfort Crew and on the TD Music Stage. "TD Canada Trust is all about comfort and for many Canadians, comfort is about kicking back, listening to great music and soaking up the sunshine," says Tim Hockey, Group Head, Canadian Banking and President and CEO, TD Canada Trust. "Being a part of Virgin Festival is a great way for us to connect with younger Canadians and showcase the fantastic things the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation is doing in our communities." The TD Friends of the Environment Foundation will be at the Green Spot - an area in the Festival dedicated to building environmental awareness. "We're inviting rock fans to the TD Go Zone in the Green Spot, where they can blog from solar-powered computers, check out our biodiesel exhibit and charge their MP3 players and cameras at solar-powered stations," says Mary Desjardins, Executive Director, TD Friends of the Environment Foundation. "We'll be featuring some exciting new innovations - innovations we hope will eventually impact our daily lives in a positive way." In addition, visitors to the TD Go Zone will be able to find out how TD Friends of the Environment Foundation and the communities it supports are making a difference. They can also get involved by signing up for the TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, a national conservation initiative running from September 20th to 28th. Interested music lovers can find their local drop-in cleanup site by visiting www.vanaqua.org/cleanup. The TD Comfort Crew will be in the crowd handing out sunscreen, hand sanitizer and misting rock fans to help them stay cool, clean and comfortable. So we're proud to be part of bringing the best in music to our communities and our customers through sponsorships that include eight of Canada's foremost jazz festivals, Canadian Idol and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and by supporting important and exciting music programs like the National Youth Orchestra, Piano Plus and the TD Canada Trust Family Concerts. With all the things we're already doing with music, sponsoring Virgin's Mobile Music Festivals in Canada just feels, well, comfortable.
