MARKHAM, ON, Oct. 9 /CNW/ - As part of its commitment to building a
strong presence in Canada's many diverse and growing communities, TD Canada
Trust today announced the grand opening of its new location in Markham at 2890
Major Mackenzie Drive East. The grand opening festivities included a $5,000
donation from TD Friends of the Environment Foundation to Markham Trees for
Tomorrow and the kick off for a draw for two premium bicycles.
"We're excited to showcase our TD green pride at our new location with
our famous longer hours and award-winning customer service," said Kathy
Schulz, Branch Manager. "The fact that we also offer multi-lingual
capabilities to our diverse customer base in Markham will help us make the
banking experience even more comfortable for residents."
At 12:00 p.m. today, Frank Scarpitti, Mayor of Markham, Henry Kwong,
District Vice President, TD Canada Trust and Kathy Schulz, Branch Manager were
on hand to celebrate the grand opening with an official ribbon cutting and
cheque presentation to Markham Trees for Tomorrow - a multi-year plan to
drastically increase tree cover in Markham. Attendees enjoyed refreshments and
children took part in fun activities.
The new location offers a full array of personal and small business
products and services as well as Financial Service Representatives and
Customer Service Representatives with English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Farsi
speaking capabilities.
As part of TD Canada Trust's extended hours, branch hours are 8:00 am to
6:00 pm, Monday through Wednesday; 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Thursday and Friday and
8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday. The new 5,000 square foot branch is wheelchair
accessible and offers ample parking as well as one Green Machine ABM available
24 hours per day.
