TD Canada Trust received highest scores in ABM banking excellence, online banking excellence, recommend to friends or family, value for money, values my business, products & services excellence, and overall customer service excellence among the Big 5 banks

TORONTO, Aug. 25 /CNW/ - For the sixth year in a row, TD Canada Trust has been ranked No. 1 in customer service excellence among the top 5 banks in Canada by global market research firm Synovate.

"We're thrilled that Synovate continues to recognize TD as the leader in customer service excellence among the top five banks in Canada," said Tim Hockey, Group Head Canadian Banking and President and CEO, TD Canada Trust. "It means so much to us because customer service is the toughest thing to get right and it's the number one area in which we've chosen to lead. It's why we invest so much in training our front line employees, it's why we continue to open more branches with longer hours, and it's why we continue to innovate and improve our branch, phone, ATM and online banking experiences."

Synovate's Customer Service Index (CSI) survey, ended August 2010, is conducted quarterly among a sample of 39,000 Canadians. Synovate's annual awards program ranks the top five banks and other financial institutions in eleven Best Banking Awards categories and TD Canada Trust is the sole winner in seven of them and shared top ranking in the rest.

"This award tells us we're doing customer service right," said Hockey, "But it doesn't mean for one second that we are going to be complacent about it. This just motivates us to get even better. Put another way, when Canadians are looking for the bank that gives the best service, we want them to think of one place and one place only - TD Canada Trust."

The Synovate award comes just weeks after another major customer service award for the bank. J.D. Power and Associates recently named TD Canada Trust is the best in customer satisfaction among the banks five years in a row - every year they have been measuring service in Canada.
