MEDIA ADVISORY - TD Bank Group gets a lesson in fashion from McMaster Children's Hospital

TORONTO, May 9 /CNW/ - Patients from Hamilton's McMaster Children's Hospital will be showing off their inner designer by presenting a one-of-a-kind created vest to representatives from TD Bank Group and the Children's Miracle Network. This design work is being done to bring awareness to the annual Children's Miracle Network Campaign, which helps raise funds for the local hospital. This year, TD will be challenging employees at local branches to wear a decorated vest until they reach their Children's Miracle Network's fundraising goal.

"We have been working together with TD for several years and wanted to make this campaign fun for everyone, and with this event we were able to get one of our Mac Kids and their family involved by decorating their own vests," said Nancy Sheffield, Director Children's Miracle Network Programs, McMaster Children's Hospital. "We are so appreciative of the support we receive each year from TD and its customers. Creative fundraising ideas, such as this, motivate employees and customers to continue their generosity to Mac Kids."

On Wednesday, May 11, media are invited to join Jennifer Laughton, VP Development, McMaster Children's Hospital; Nancy Sheffield, Director Children's Miracle Network Programs, McMaster Children's Hospital; Carol James, Branch Manager, TD Canada Trust and the Martin family for a photo opportunity and to learn first hand how funds from the annual Children's Miracle Network Campaign makes a significant difference in the lives of so many children and families.

"Our employees in the Hamilton and Niagara region have been committed to various different campaigns to help raise money for Mc Master Children's Hospital," said Carol James, Branch Manager, TD Canada Trust. "And this year, residents and customers can visit any local branch during the month of May to make a one time donation or sign up for Automatic Monthly Donations - we have seen that even a little can go a long way."
