- TD Canada Trust opens new concept branch at Waterloo's newest shopping hub - the Boardwalk

WATERLOO, ON, May 28, 2011 /CNW/ - Today, TD Canada Trust celebrated the grand opening of its new state-of-the-art branch in Waterloo. Located at The Boardwalk, Waterloo's newest and largest shopping hub, the 5100 square foot branch provides customers an innovative approach to banking in a new convenient location. While running errands, meeting friends for lunch or just enjoying the atmosphere, customers can now get their banking done with ease and with the same customer service they have come to expect from TD Canada Trust.

"We're extremely excited to be opening this innovative new branch in such a vibrant neighborhood," says Theresa Finlayson, Branch Manager, TD Canada Trust. "We've designed our Waterloo branch to provide a welcoming environment that's inviting to customers, emphasizes personal service, and provides easy access to a range of information and financial expertise."

Finlayson was joined by Kitchener-Waterloo MP, Peter Braid for the ribbon cutting ceremony and celebrations for opening day. As part of TD's ongoing commitment to the community, a $5,000 donation was presented last week to the Region of Waterloo, Community Gardens Initiative from the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation where the funds will help the development of the Community Gardens within our community.

Features of the new branch include:

  • An open concept design that helps TD serve customers better by moving financial specialists out from behind desks and right into the presence of customers.
  • A Community Boardroom designed for use by groups of customers including families, businesses and not-for-profit groups. This room is available free-of-charge and includes business services such as video conferencing capabilities and a printer.
  • A community wall that shares a pictorial story about the local area. The current display features projects from the Children's Water Festival, Local Tree Planting and Wetland Education program.
  • Digital Displays mounted throughout the branch to provide customers with current information about TD products and services.
  • A Customer Lounge with a coffee station lets customers wait in comfort if they arrive early for an appointment or are waiting for their friends or family to complete their banking.

The new branch is wheelchair accessible and features one full-service Green Machine ATM which is available 24 hours per day. In addition, the new location offers a full array of personal and small business products and services as well as Agricultural Services and four Financial Services Representatives.

As part of TD Canada Trust's extended hours, branch hours are 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Wednesday; 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
