EDMONTON, Sept. 23, 2011 /CNW/ - D Canada Trust announces the grand opening of a new concept branch located in Edmonton's Southgate Mall. Bringing an innovative approach to branch banking, the new 6,400 square foot branch offers customers an open design with a lounge and beverage station, high-tech digital displays, virtual systems and other special features to enhance and simplify the banking experience.

"We're incredibly excited to be relocating and joining the community of retail stores and services in the Southgate Mall, with the opening of our new "Bravo Branch" feedback from our customers has already been very positive," says Heather Bennet, Branch Manager, TD Canada Trust. "In this location, customers can complete several errands in one convenient location by stopping in during their shopping excursions, whether they need everyday banking services, want to meet with an advisor or to inquire about a mortgage or loan."

In addition to the grand-opening festivities, the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation will present a $10,000 donation to the Federation of Alberta Naturalists for the Young Naturalist Club demonstrating TD's ongoing commitment to the community. This gift will help the Young Naturalist Club provide educational resources and opportunities for activities that promote being outdoors, observing nature, scientific investigation, environmental stewardship, and healthy living.

Features of the new branch include:

  • An open concept design that helps TD serve customers better by moving financial specialists out from behind desks and right into the presence of customers.
  • A Community Boardroom designed for use by groups of customers including families, businesses and not-for-profit groups.
  • A Community Wall shares a pictorial story about the local area. The current display features projects funded by the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation and includes space for community groups to post flyers about upcoming events.
  • Digital Displays mounted throughout the branch to provide customers with current information about TD products and services.
  • A Customer Lounge with a coffee station lets customers wait in comfort if they arrive early for an appointment or are waiting for their friends or family to complete their banking.

The new branch is wheelchair accessible and features 3 full-service Green Machine ATMs available 24 hours a day. In addition, the new location offers a full array of personal and small business products and services as well as Financial Services Representatives, Financial Advisors and a TD Waterhouse Financial Planner.

As part of TD Canada Trust's extended hours, branch hours are 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Wednesday; 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
