VANCOUVER, Oct. 14, 2011 /CNW/ - Award-winning author Jo Ellen Bogart and illustrator/plasticine artist Barbara Reid join grade one students from David Livingstone School to read Gifts, a book that explores a young girl and her grandmother's shared imagination for travel souvenirs.

Over 500,000 copies of Bogart and Reid's book were distributed this month to grade one students across Canada in the 12th year of the TD Grade One Book Giveaway. The program, a joint initiative between TD Bank Group and the Canadian Children's Book Centre (CCBC), is the largest free book distribution program to school-aged children in Canada with nearly 5 million books provided to date.

Passionate about inspiring curiosity and literacy in Canada's youth, Bogart and Reid, are on their fourth stop in their reading tour across Canada.
