CALGARY, Jan. 19, 2016 /CNW/ - On Saturday, January 23, TD will officially launch a community book drive in support of the Calgary Public Library and Foundation. Taking place from January 23 – 31, all 43 Calgary-area TD branches will be collecting unwanted books, CDs and DVDs. The Calgary Public Library has partnered with Better World Books, an organization that generates funding and supports non-profit literacy programs by re-selling donated items.
To mark the official launch, TD will be hosting two public reading events using local Wordfest authors at select Calgary TD Canada Trust branch locations. The events are open to the public and will celebrate the ongoing relationship between TD and the Calgary Public Library. Children will also receive a free book to jump-start their love of reading.
The events planned will engage TD employees, customers and general public in supporting the journey to create the best public library in the world for Calgarians.
