“Marking 20 years of the Housing for Everyone program fills me with immense pride, as this milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to meeting the evolving and growing needs of our communities,” said Paige Carlson-Heim, Head of Social Impact at TD and Director of TD Charitable Foundation. “Housing instability touches so many lives and has far-reaching economic impacts, which is why we are so proud to support these nonprofits that are helping prevent eviction before it becomes a crisis.”

Many renters face challenges like rising living costs, sudden income loss, and difficulty navigating lease terms, which can increase the risk of eviction, especially in low- to moderate-income communities. This year’s grant recipients were selected for their proactive eviction prevention strategies, which help maintain housing continuity, reduce financial stress, and contribute to the long-term stability of our neighborhoods.

Guided by a long-term strategy to address the escalating challenge of housing instability before it becomes a crisis, TD has intentionally shaped the Housing for Everyone program to respond to the changing needs of the communities it serves by prioritizing prevention, stability, and long-term impact.

This year’s program not only marks two decades of partnership with nonprofit organizations on the front lines of housing affordability but also reflects TD's longstanding commitment to strengthening communities through stable, affordable housing solutions. What began as a small initiative has grown into one of TD’s largest philanthropic commitments, with more than $73 million awarded to over 675 affordable housing initiatives across the communities TD serves.

Together, these investments, along with the productive conversations sparked by forums like the TD Housing Summit taking place on April 22, underscore the need for sustained partnership, shared learning, and long-term commitment to creating housing affordability.
