TD is growing again in Charlotte.

On Sept. 2, the bank opened its new 91,000-square-foot office space, which can accommodate up to 540 colleagues across three building floors, nearly five times the capacity of TD's previous Charlotte office. The significant expansion reflects TD’s long-term investment in its colleagues, clients and the continued growth of one of the country’s leading banking markets.

Designed to foster collaboration, flexibility and connection, the office creates a workplace that supports colleagues in several departments including commercial banking, technology, risk, treasury and more. The space includes a classroom-style meeting room, conference rooms, a zen room for relaxation and refocusing, a café and other collaborative work environments designed to bring teams together.

How TD is investing in Charlotte

TD has had office space in the Ballantyne area south of Charlotte since 2015, and banking locations since 2023. Over the last 12 years, the city's population and workforce have rapidly grown — including the bank's own.

"Charlotte has cemented its reputation as our nation's second-largest banking center," said Leo Salom, President and CEO, TD Bank U.S. "And we are investing in this region, not just because of its extraordinary growth, but also because it is home to some of the most skilled professionals in the financial services industry. So with this new office, we are sending a clear message to our colleagues, clients, and communities in the Southeast: TD is here for the long haul."

Beyond creating a workplace for colleagues, the space was thoughtfully designed to reflect the community it serves with elements that celebrate Charlotte's culture, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit through relationships with local artists and businesses.

Among the featured pieces is artwork by Charlotte-area artist Kenny Nguyen, whose work is included as part of TD's broader effort to connect with and support regional artists. Nguyen's installation, along with the other displayed artwork, helps bring a distinctly local perspective to the space while reinforcing TD's commitment to investing in the communities it serves.

The connection to Charlotte extends beyond the office walls. Just a short walk from the Harris Building is TD Amp at Ballantyne, another example of how TD is supporting places that bring the community together.

    Future-focused

At the heart of the event on Sept. 2 was a ribbon-cutting ceremony with senior TD leaders including Leo Salom; Raymond Chun, Group President and Chief Executive Officer, TD Bank Group; Hugh Allen, Head of Commercial Real Estate, TD Bank U.S.; and Nick Miceli, Regional President, Southeast Metro, TD Bank U.S.

Guests included John Barton, President of the Northwood Office Platform for Northwood Management; Lindsay Courtney, Regional Director for U.S. Senator Ted Budd; Ed Driggs, Charlotte City Council Member, and other state and local officials.

"TD is not just investing in banking here. They are investing in community gathering spaces, entertainment and the next chapter in Charlotte," said Ed. "Today, we are not just cutting a ribbon. We are welcoming a partner that clearly believes in Charlotte's future."

This eye toward the future was echoed by TD executives Leo and Raymond. Both spoke about TD's aspiration to grow from the eighth-largest bank in the U.S. to a top-five bank, supported by continued investments in talent, technology and physical presence in key growth markets such as Charlotte.

For TD, the new Ballantyne office represents more than a workplace. It serves as a symbol of its long-term commitment to Charlotte and the colleagues, clients and communities it serves.
