When we consider what kind of future artificial intelligence (AI) could create for us, it can be hard not to get caught up in worst-case scenarios.
Millions of human jobs replaced by AI. Cold, cost-efficient AI models that are disconnected from humanity. A future full of unknowns.
But Sumee Seetharaman, Vice President of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Practice at TD, has a more optimistic take.
In episode two of TD Invent: The Banking on AI Podcast, Seetharaman tells host Grant McDonald why she thinks AI could be the “rising tide that lifts all boats” — one that could create better versions of the careers and roles we have now instead of outright replacing them.
Seetharaman explains that like electricity, AI could become ubiquitous. We might not see it, but it will always be there, humming in the background and powering our work.
And we’d no longer talk about it as a differentiator.
In this episode, Seetharaman shares her own path in AI as a woman, why she believes that AI needs to work for everyone, and how we can create a future at the Bank where AI is ubiquitous (hint: we need to cultivate talent at the Bank who are curious and like to tinker).
