OSHAWA, ON, Oct. 18 /CNW/ - A $5,000 donation courtesy of TD Friends of
the Environment Foundation to Friends of the Second Marsh. A grand prize draw
for $500 and surprise giveaways. Carnival themed games, hourly draws for $50,
face painters, a DJ, hot dogs, cotton candy and refreshments. Now that's what
we call a party and that's exactly how TD Canada Trust celebrated the opening
of its new branch at Simcoe and Conlin in Oshawa today.
"Oshawa is a growing and vibrant city and we are thrilled to be part of
its continuing success. Our new location is perfectly situated to provide our
comfortable, award-winning service to staff and students at two universities
as well as the surrounding community," said Lisa Kristensen, Branch Manager.
"We wanted to share our excitement about being here with all of our new
neighbours, and what better way than to throw a great big old-fashioned
neighbourhood party?"
"This new branch is a sign of our community's continuing growth and
prosperity. With 7 branches in Oshawa, TD Canada Trust has always been a great
neighbour and we know that tradition will continue in the Simcoe and Conlin
community," said Mayor John Gray. "We also appreciate TD's help with the
important work that the Friends of the Second Marsh are doing for the
environment."
Dozens of TD Canada Trust employees and volunteers, including District
Vice President Shanaka De Mel, and Branch Manager Lisa Kristensen, joined the
mayor and Oshawa residents and their families for today's festivities, which
began at 9:00 a.m. and lasted until 2:00 p.m.
The fun continues with TD Canada Trust's special grand opening offer
available at the Simcoe and Conlin branch. Anyone who opens a new account with
a minimum deposit of $250 will receive a blender, a grill or a rice cooker.
The offer lasts until October 29th.
Located at 2061 Simcoe Street N, this new branch offers a full array of
personal and small business products and services as well as a financial
planner and four financial services representatives. The branch features
TD Canada Trust's famous longer hours. Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to
6:00 p.m., Monday through Wednesday; 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and
