TD Canada Trust celebrates the opening of its 1100th branch in Canada - TD Canada Trust has opened nearly 140 branches in the past five years, 33 in the past year alone - TD Canada Trust has the second largest branch network in Canada, open 50% longer than the other banks TORONTO, Nov. 21 /CNW/ - TD Canada Trust celebrated its 1,100th branch opening in Canada this past weekend with a big party at its newest location in Maple, Ontario. Hundreds turned up to enjoy food, drinks, games and surprise cash giveaways throughout the day. The Maple branch is the 33rd TD Canada Trust branch opened since November 2007; part of a branch expansion spree that has taken place from coast to coast in the past five years. "Customer service is extremely important to us so we continue to grow even during the current economic uncertainty. When times are tough, customers often rely even more on their relationship with their bank, and face to face service with convenient locations and longer hours are an important part of that relationship," said Tim Hockey, Group Head, Canadian Banking and President and CEO, TD Canada Trust. Maple, Ontario is just the latest of the branches TD Canada Trust has opened in the past year from Victoria, BC to Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta to Candiac, Quebec and points in between. "It's not surprising that we've seen a fair bit of expansion in the west, especially BC and Alberta, but we're also opening a lot of new branches in growing communities in other provinces as well, especially in urban and suburban Southern Ontario communities that have been experiencing rapid population growth over the last few years. It's important for us to be in those communities in order to serve our growing and diverse customer base," added Hockey. Each new TD Canada Trust branch features a broad array of personal and small business products and services as well as highly trained TD Canada Trust employees dedicated to helping customers reach their financial goals. A number of branches also feature the services of TD Waterhouse wealth management professionals, including Financial Planners. TD Canada Trust branches are designed to be barrier-free and equipped with state-of-the-art, full-service Green Machine ABMs featuring the latest in bank machine technology, including security and accessibility features such as audio guidance for visually impaired customers, and a choice of five languages. TD Canada Trust's hours are Monday to Wednesday, 8am-6pm, Thursday to Friday, 8am-8pm and Saturday, 8am-4pm - 50% longer than the other banks.
