ST. CATHARINES, ON, Nov. 8 /CNW/ - This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Tree of Lights Campaign in St. Catharines. As presenting sponsor, TD will be on site to celebrate this remarkable event that raises funds for the St. Catharines General Hospital (SCGH) Foundation every year.

The Tree of Lights Campaign is one of the most successful fundraising initiatives for the foundation, raising an incredible $1.3 million over its 24 year history. These funds have been used to purchase urgently needed patient care equipment for departments including the Operating Room, Emergency Room, Critical Care and Pediatrics.

Media and the public are invited to attend the Tree of Lights Celebrations in St. Catharines as it marks the official launch of the holiday giving campaign. This event celebrates the spirit of giving with family activities, musical entertainment and holiday cheer.

The Thorold Fire Hall on Towpath Street will also host a similar event on Wednesday, November 10. Proceeds from the 2010 Tree of Lights Campaign will be directed toward the purchase of urgently needed Electric Beds for the SCGH site.
