MONCTON, NB, Feb. 15 /CNW/ - TD Canada Trust is pleased to announce that, in June 2011, it will introduce Sunday banking to New Brunswick. TD adds its location at 525 Regis Street in Dieppe to a list of more than 300 branches open Sundays across Canada. The branch serves several nearby communities in addition to Dieppe, including Moncton.
"We're thrilled to add Dieppe, New Brunswick to the list of locations we'll have open on Sundays across Canada," said Bruce Shirreff, Regional Vice President, Atlantic Regional, TD Canada Trust. "In New Brunswick, the decision to allow retail businesses to open on Sunday rests with municipalities so we've been actively engaged in determining which communities might offer the best opportunities for Sunday hours," added Shireff. "With a vibrant and busy shopping area, Dieppe was the perfect location, and the municipality accommodates seven day banking."
"February 13th was the first Sunday that we opened over 300 branches across the country and served thousands of customers who wanted to make a deposit, sign for a mortgage or get financial advice," said Kerry Peacock, Executive Vice President, Branch Banking, TD Canada Trust. "The response has been overwhelmingly positive from customers who appreciate the convenience of being able to bank around their busy schedules."
TD recently polled Canadians, asking, among other things, if it's hard to get errands done during the week. Results showed that 64% of Canadians in the Atlantic provinces find it hard to get things done Monday to Friday and 41% said they are busier than they were five years ago.
The top five banking-related activities that Atlantic Canadians would prefer to do in a branch instead of online or by phone are:
<< 1. Sign a mortgage 2. Get financial advice 3. Set up a loan 4. Renew a mortgage 5. Buy investment products >>All these services will be available to customers at the Dieppe branch on Sundays.
