Bikebuild hero

As the long-time title sponsor of the TD Five Boro Bike Tour, TD employees joined together with Bike New York (BNY), the non-profit behind the Tour, to help bring the vision of BNY to life in a hyper local way. BNY looks to increase bike ridership, to empower youth to lead healthy, productive lives, and remove barriers to cycling, while also advocating for and expanding services to reach more New Yorkers.

Through a day of volunteering, over 100 TD employees joined local TD customers, NYC Department of Education (DOE) and Transportation (DOT) representatives and Clinton High School of Manhattan students to build 100 bikes as part of the TD Bank Bike Build program. These bikes will be used by BNY in schools across the five boroughs to teach students how to ride and how to do so safely. The event was a great lead up to the May 7, TD Five Boro Bike Tour, where the proceeds from the Tour help fund bike education across the five boroughs with over 30,000 New Yorkers receiving free bike education in recent years.
