Three million core banking customers go paperless at TD Canada Trust TORONTO, April 24 /CNW/ - As Canadians celebrate Earth Week, TD Canada Trust today announced it has surpassed three million paperless banking customers. In the last year alone these customers - who have signed up for TD Canada Trust's Paperless Record Keeping option - have saved more than 35 million sheets of paper. "Our customers tell us they want green options and we've responded, from paperless banking to green mortgages to a discount on your auto insurance if you drive a hybrid," said Chris Stamper, Vice President, Core Banking and Debit Payments, TD Canada Trust. "We're thrilled our customers are embracing environmentally friendly choices and if we can stay on pace, we'll reach four million paperless banking customers by the end of the year." Paperless Record Keeping is available at no charge for TD chequing and savings account holders. Up to 18 months of transaction records can be viewed and customers can access their records online through EasyWeb, over the phone with EasyLine, or in-person at a TD Canada Trust branch or at a Green Machine ABM. TD Canada Trust also offers a Green Mortgage and Green Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC). Customers are eligible for a one per cent discount off the posted interest rate and up to a one per cent cash rebate when making ENERGY STAR qualified purchases. Also, TD will donate $100 to the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation at the time of the rebate. Visit www.tdcanadatrust.com/greenhome for more details. "Making simple decisions like choosing our paperless banking option can have a real impact on the environment. We're saving more than just paper - we're also saving water, energy, greenhouse gas emissions and solid waste associated with the manufacturing process of paper," added Stamper.
