TORONTO, July 30 /CNW/ - TD Canada Trust is gearing up to take part in one of Canada's most exciting annual celebrations of global music and the arts. The TD Canada Trust IRIE Music Festival, also known as "IRIE Fest," takes place from August 1-4 in downtown Toronto at Queen's Park and Nathan Phillips Square. "IRIE Fest has become a symbol of Toronto's many different cultures and communities and we're proud to celebrate our diversity," says Marvin Daley, Vice President, TD Waterhouse. "IRIE Fest is a cultural extravaganza that represents the people of the Greater Toronto Area and we're delighted to be part of this first class festival." Highlights of this year's festival will include the reggae and soca sound of legendary band Byron Lee and the Dragonaires, the roots reggae of Culture with Kenyatta Hill, hot salsa band Café Cubano, percussive players Samba Squad and renowned Jamaican band Fab-5. "With live music, arts and crafts, dance, film, and of course the fabulous tropical food fair, IRIE Fest helps to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of cultures and traditions," added Daley. Besides the music, the IRIE Music Festival Vendors Marketplace will be central to this year's event, featuring a variety of merchandise including clothing, music, books, arts & crafts and fashion accessories. To satisfy your hunger, the Taste of the Tropics food emporium will boast a delicious mix of tasty delights. For more information, please visit www.iriemusicfestival.com.
