TORONTO, Feb. 4 /CNW/ - This year marks the 10th anniversary of the award-winning TD Summer Reading Club (TDSRC) in the province of Ontario. It is the only club of its kind to be offered to Canadian children 12 years old and under across the country.

To celebrate this anniversary, a special presentation by the TD Summer Reading Club's principal partners will be held at the this year's Ontario Library Association (OLA) Super Conference on Saturday, February 5 at 10:00 a.m.

The media are invited to this event to get an inside look at the program from its inception, to be informed about some amazing results and statistics on the TDSRC's 2010 program, Destination Jungle, and to have the opportunity to hear the success stories and recent developments of the Club. Finally you will hear how participation is continuing to increase rapidly not only in Ontario but across the country.

The media will also get the inside scoop on next summer's TDSRC program theme!

The TD Summer Reading Club is a joint initiative between the TD Bank Group, Library and Archives Canada, and the Toronto Public Library. It is an award-winning program that offers children and their families a fun way to enjoy reading during the summer months. The objectives of the program are to consolidate what children learn in schools and reduce summer learning loss, to strengthen reading skills and promote the fun of reading. And finally, the TDSRC encourages children to visit their local libraries and ultimately to become life-long learners.
