Bharat Masrani, TD Bank Group President and Chief Executive Officer, recently shared the following message with TD colleagues about the horrific attack in London, Ontario, expressing the Bank's support for the Muslim community and our commitment to continuing to speak out against racism, discrimination and intolerance in all its forms.
This past Sunday, three generations of a London, Ontario, family out for an evening walk were killed and a young boy was seriously injured and orphaned in a heinous attack rooted in hate. Like you, I am deeply saddened by this tremendous loss. Throughout the Bank and across our communities, millions are mourning this terrible tragedy. We all grieve and stand with Muslim communities at this difficult time.
Over the past year, you have heard from me and other senior TD leaders a number of times, denouncing racism and violence, and reaffirming our unwavering commitment to be a force for positive progress across society. It pains me that we have once again seen the all too real consequences of intolerance. Discrimination, in all its forms, remains a scourge that we must all actively work to stamp out.
TD will continue to work tirelessly to promote and advance a better future. We remain steadfast in our commitment to enrich our diverse organization and our unique and inclusive workplace. And together, as One TD, we will help to build a society in which all can thrive without fear or prejudice.
