And one of the clearest paths to inclusion and participation is public education. Education is a key component to building a more inclusive future where everyone can be confident in their ability to live well and thrive in a changing world.
On May 31, TD was honoured for its contributions to advancing publicly funded education in Canada at The Learning Partnership's annual Tribute Celebration gala held in Toronto, ON.
"At TD, we believe that all members of society should have an opportunity to succeed," Norie Campbell, TD Group Head, Customer and Colleague Experience, said on behalf of TD at the gala on Thursday evening.
"Access to a good education is a critical part of this. Education not only opens doors, but contributes to the long-term well-being of individuals, families, and society at large. Working with organizations like The Learning Partnership helps us do our part to create greater inclusion throughout the communities we serve."
Since 1999, The Learning Partnership has recognized 80 extraordinary people and organizations across the country who are championing the advancement of public education every day.
The Learning Partnership is a national charity dedicated to preparing students in Canada for a globally connected world by building partnerships between government, education and business.
Through innovative student programs, executive leadership for educators, knowledge mobilization and policy, and collaborations across Canada, more than 6.9 million students have been impacted by The Learning Partnership’s programs.
For more than 20 years, TD has been committed to working with organizations like The Learning Partnership to help build an inclusive future for all.
Last year, more than 2.7-million children were reached through TD's literacy initiatives including programs like the Welcome to Kindergarten program, which helps prepare more than 100,000 children and their parents each year for an exciting and successful entry into school. Through TD's funding of the program, more than three million books have been distributed to children across the country.
