Technology is transforming the future of banking – and TD is looking for skilled talent to help power that transformation.

As financial institutions like TD increasingly look to new technologies to foster deeper relationships with customers, recruiting and retaining top-tier tech talent is becoming critical. TD continues to evolve its capabilities in a range of tech areas, including engineering, automation tools, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud technology, and advancing cybersecurity defenses.

As part of its strategy to develop the best possible technologies, TD plans to hire more than 2,000 colleagues into tech-related roles this year alone. The Bank is particularly looking for talent with skills in cloud, engineering, dev ops, machine learning, automation, agile methodology, UX design, and mobile.

In the video above, you'll hear from two TD tech leaders – Licenia Rojas, Senior Vice President, Chief Engineer and Chief Architect; and Sophia Leung, Senior Vice President, Head of Protect Platform – about how technology is helping to deliver value to TD customers and what makes working at a bank unique.

"We are actually helping to impact and enrich the lives of our customers through technology. You could be helping someone with their first mortgage, " said Rojas.

Technology is changing the financial services industry in every way, Leung says. When technology and business collide, it's an opportunity for technologists to learn new skills and stretch the boundaries of their career development.

"It's a great intersection for people who really want to have a career where they get challenged every day and really get to learn," said Leung.

TD has consistently demonstrated its commitment to new technologies and has received industry recognition for its leadership in AI and digital capabilities that have been used to help power new experiences for its customers. TD was recently named as a Celent Model Bank for “improving financial well-being using AI-driven predictive models that deliver tailored solutions.” To learn more about the award, see the TD article here.

Earlier this year, TD was also named "Most Innovative Digital Bank in North America" by Global Finance for the third consecutive year at its 2021 World's Best Digital Bank Awards where TD also took home the award for Best Consumer Digital Bank. TD encourages and celebrates creativity, innovation and operational excellence across the Bank and at every level within the organization. TD recently hit a milestone with TD colleagues being named as inventors on 1,500 TD patent application filings to date across Canada and the U.S. TD has the most patents filed by a financial institution in Canada as per the Canadian Intellectual Property Office database as of January 2020.

Greg Keeley, Senior Executive Vice President, Platforms and Technology at TD says the Bank will continue to invest in areas like cloud, AI and enhanced data-analytics capabilities to help power the future of banking at TD and will prioritize recruitment and retention to drive TD’s transformation.
