2019 Ready Challenge Winners to be Announced on December 3
We're proud of the impact our 2018 Ready Challenge recipients have accomplished and can't wait to reveal our 2019 winners.
The Ready Challenge is a program where grants are given to 10 organizations each year in one of the focus areas of The Ready Commitment, an initiative to invest $1B (CDN) by 2030 across four areas where we believe we can affect the biggest change to improve the world: Better Health, Financial Security, the Environment (Vibrant Planet) and Connected Communities.
In 2018, our focus area was Financial Security, with grants going to organizations offering innovative solutions aimed at providing education and training necessary for obtaining higher level employment to people facing socioeconomic barriers to post-secondary education. Byte Back, a Washington DC organization, was one of those grant winners, and they used the funds to expand into Baltimore.
The Ready Challenge will provide grants in 2019 for Better Health programs, specifically for preventative efforts including screening, early detection and intervention. We are excited about the winners, who will be announced on December 3. Stay tuned for more information.
