Financial assistance benefits multiple customer segments, product and service offerings

TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank®, is offering TD Cares, a comprehensive program to provide financial relief options to U.S. customers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Customers who are impacted by COVID-19 and reach out to TD for help as directed, are eligible to receive the financial assistance offered through TD Cares. Based on their unique needs, customers may request certain fee refunds, early no-penalty access to Certificates of Deposit, loan assistance, and other relief options.

"Through TD Cares, we are extending a helping hand to our customers and colleagues during this extraordinary, unprecedented period, when COVID-19 continues to have a tremendous impact on people's lives, our economy and in the communities where we live and work," TD Bank President and CEO Greg Braca said. "The health and well-being of our customers and colleagues and the support of our communities are what matter most during this difficult time. We are in this together."

For TD Bank, N.A. Visa credit card, personal loan, home equity loan or line of credit, TD Fit loan and residential mortgage customers, TD Cares offers:

  • Payment deferment of up to 90 days
  • Late fee refunds.

Personal loan, home equity and residential mortgage customers should call 1-800-742-2651 for assistance.

TD Bank, N.A. Visa credit card customers should call 1-888-561-8861 for assistance.

For TD Bank retail deposit customers, TD Cares offers:

  • Refunds of overdraft and non-TD ATM fees
  • Early access to retail Certificates of Deposit with no early withdrawal penalties
  • Refunds of monthly maintenance fees.

TD Bank retail deposit customers seeking assistance should call Customer Service at 1-888-751-9000 to discuss financial relief options.

For TD Auto Finance customers, TD Cares offers payment extensions of up to 90 days and late fee waivers. TD Auto Finance customers can call 1-800-556-8172 for assistance or use the Secure Message Center on tdautofinance.com. Additionally, TD Auto Finance is offering several options through its assistance program for dealer customers.

Responding to the Needs of Small Business

TD Bank knows that small businesses are a vital part of our community. "We know that our small business customers have been especially hard hit by COVID-19, and we are here to help," added Braca.

Through TD Cares, assistance options for small business deposit and merchant solutions customers include:

  • Refunds of monthly maintenance fees
  • Refunds of overdraft and non-TD ATM fees
  • Early access to business Certificates of Deposit with no early withdrawal penalties
  • Refunds of monthly service, inactive and minimum fees for Merchant Solutions customers.

Small Business customers who experience a hardship resulting from COVD-19 and wish to discuss payment options and fee flexibility on their loan or line of credit should contact their relationship manager.

TD Cares Eligibility Extended to Colleagues

The TD Cares customer assistance program is also available to TD employees that have TD Bank accounts, credit cards or loans. In addition, TD announced on March 24 that it will award bonuses of up to $1,000 plus two extra paid personal days to eligible TD Bank employees who are working onsite in TD stores and other required locations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We continue helping our customers with their banking needs thanks in large part to our colleagues who continue to staff TD Bank locations," Braca said. "I also want to express heartfelt gratitude, admiration, and respect to my TD colleagues. I am so very honored to lead such a dedicated team during these tough times."

Supporting our Communities

The spread of COVID-19 is creating new challenges for the most vulnerable in our communities and placing unprecedented demands on our healthcare systems. To help alleviate the burden, the TD Charitable Foundation has shifted its funding priorities and adapted its application process to accommodate the needs of our community partners, making every effort to be flexible and efficient in assisting these vital organizations.

In addition, TD has already deployed emergency grant funds to our local teams for allocation to community relief funds and provided direct funding to the National Association of Community Health Centers to provide medical support to community health centers in Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Florida, Philadelphia and New Jersey as they respond to COVID-19.

"As we work to continue meeting the banking needs of our customers and our communities, we cannot forget the people who are suffering from COVID-19 or those who have been impacted by this pandemic outbreak." Braca said. "The TD Ready Commitment, our corporate citizenship platform, is providing access to needed care, better health outcomes and financial security as we navigate the challenges presented by COVID-19."
