• Nov 16, 2017

Through its "Housing for Everyone" grant competition, TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank®, awarded 25 organizations throughout TD Bank's footprint from Maine to Florida a total of $3.125 million. The 25 grants of $125,000 each will support housing projects from these 25 winning non-profit organizations that focus on addressing the needs of individuals seeking housing assistance across the East Coast.

The TD Charitable Foundation's 12th annual "Housing for Everyone" grant competition invited non-profit organizations to submit proposals outlining their plans and initiatives to support and provide affordable housing initiatives in their communities. The Foundation increased the grant amount for each recipient by $25,000 per organization compared with prior years of the competition. The monies enable non-profits to create and/or preserve affordable housing for low- and moderate-income individuals and families that cannot afford a place to live. Since 2006, the TD Charitable Foundation has awarded more than $25 million in grants through this competition.

"We take our commitment to our communities seriously, and the Housing for Everyone campaign enables us to enhance our economic support for the neighborhoods we serve," said Mike Rayder, Donation and Foundation Manager, TD Charitable Foundation. "We are honored to partner with organizations that are providing individuals with a chance to live in their own home and build a future."

Organizations were required to have tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status or be a governmental agency, and to develop or maintain affordable housing, or provide housing-related programs and services to very low-, low- and moderate-income individuals or families.

A staunch commitment to active involvement in the local community is a vital element of the TD Bank philosophy. TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank® and the TD Charitable Foundation provide support to affordable housing, financial literacy and education, and environmental initiatives, many of which focus on improving the welfare of children and families.
